I am not going to use this page for updates anymore, instead please check the side bar for the post at the beginning of each week that will have the homework and the weekly summary combined. Thanks.
Week 8
This week we finish off our notes on worldviews, look at an overview of Greek philosophy, and continue with Hamilton’s Mythology. The students will also begin a paper (3 pages min.) analyzing the characters of one or comparing the characters of two Greek gods.
Week Six
This week we are going to finish our notes on The Greek Way and begin an introduction to mythology.
The students turn in their annotated Bibliographies on Monday. On Tuesday the students will take their first test. The rest of the week we will begin studying Edith Hamilton’s Mythology. It is going to be a whirlwind review as we will cover the first 96 pages this week, and 40 more over the weekend. The students should expect a couple review quizzes over the course of the week.
Jer 6:16 Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.
Week Five
This week we are going to finish our notes on The Greek Way and begin an introduction to mythology.
For homework the students are still working on their annotated bibliographies. These are due next Monday. I highly recommend having them finished by Friday so that they can edit them carefully over the weekend.
Jer 6:16 Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.
Week Four
This week we are going to focus on Edith Hamilton’s book The Greek Way. On Tuesday we will probably have a quiz and on Friday I expect to have a test.
There will not be much homework as I expect the students to be working on their annotated bibliography which is due in 13 days.
Week Three
Welcome to week three of this wonderful year. This is going to be a busy week. The students will probably have two quizzes this week; one on MLA on Tuesday and another one on Edith Hamilton’s book on Friday. The students will also have to turn in a typed clean copy of their first bibliography entry on Wednesday.
Week Two:
First of all I hope you had a blessed Labor Day Weekend. Trust the Lord has blessed you with a restful weekend.
This week is going to be busy in Classical Literature. Amid the notes on The Greek Way, the notes on analyzing literature, and the vocabulary lessons the students are going to learn about their first big project an annotated bibliography.
Each students will have a handout in their notebook if you are interested in knowing more about this assignment, of course you may also email or call me.
The first entry of the annotated bibliography is due on Thursday of this week.
Week One:
There will not be any major assignments due this week. Please keep up with the homework and expect a few pop quizzes over the summer reads and class notes.
